Preventive Care & Dental Hygiene
Helping you achieve and maintain excellent dental health for life
At The French Dental Practice we believe prevention is always better than cure. We are committed to stopping dental decay and disease before it starts. That is why we provide our patients with a rigorous preventative dentistry program.
Our top tips for a healthy smile:
-
Attend routine check-ups
We all need to visit the Dentist regularly. Attending a dental check up on a regular basis avoids any nasty surprises and allows us to treat any potential problems quickly and efficiently, enabling you to keep in great dental shape.
-
Practice Good Dental Hygiene
Brush your teeth at least twice per day (after breakfast and after dinner) and floss once a day. When you brush your teeth, you are removing plaque from the surface of your teeth. Flossing removes plaque from between your teeth where periodontal (gum) disease and cavities begin. By taking just two minutes out of your day to floss you will promote a healthier smile.
- Care for your teeth and gums
Follow the steps below and ask Dr. Larmoyer about additional care for your individual needs:
- Use a soft toothbrush with rounded bristles
- Replace your toothbrush every three to four months
- Use toothpaste with fluoride
- Avoid tobacco products
- Avoid excessive alcohol use
Through Preventive Dentistry, we form a partnership with our patients to avoid cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease. Because of our efforts, many patients avoid having to undergo extensive dental work and enjoy healthy smiles throughout their lifetimes.
